Yes, I'm with you on this one I think Malcolm. This is a 1927 box that should have a boiler in it, with nickel parts placed in.

This is a rather strange outfit. The box was presumably designed to accommodate a boiler in one of the lower sections on the left of the picture. This would place it early in 1928 when the boiler was introduced to the #5 outfit but before the box was painted blue. However, the parts are nickel rather than dark red and green. I know you could order nickel outfits specially but this one has no boiler or any of the other parts introduced in 1928. Is it just an empty box that someone has put an earlier #5 set of contents into?
