Here you can see the incoming yarn fed across from the hole in the Gear Ring to the Meccano Hook opposite, before going down to the knitting area. It is, therefore being fed to the knitting hooks out of phase - with the desired (missed stitches) consequence.

You have to be alert to see things change from knitting at the bottom of the screen to no knitting there. Be patient, it IS a video!
