Ring feed French Knitting Machine Mk3
This is the final development for now of my Mk1 continuous-action (Ramage) type, ring feed, French knitter. The feed tower has been strengthened, the tower top redesigned to be more compact and the drive to it rearranged. It is running absolutely reliably, and consuming prodigious quantities of yarn at full speed! It was completed in December 2012.
As before, it will have to be run quite slowly at exhibitions, in the interest of conserving yarn. The two outstretched arms, one for guiding the yarn to the overhead area, the other for overhanging the edge of the table, both fold upwards for compactness in travelling.
This knitter still relies on the original David Couch hanging weight to draw the knitting from the machine - I can devise no neat or compact alternative that works as well. Congrats, David!
(Later) But see the next version, Mark 4. The need for that weight has been done away with - at last!!

Hi, I am looking for an i-cord knitting machine that will knit worsted and bulky weight yarns. I found your machines on Youtube and then found this website. |
