Horizontal Engine

I redesigned this model quite a bit. I hid a clockwork motor plus governor in the base instead of the external electric motor in the manual. I tidied up the base a bit and filled in more of the deck. I also enlarged the valve chest to make room for a slightly more convincing piston valve.

Carlos and Michael - thanks a lot for the kind words :)

These changes have made a popular 'Super' model even better, with realism being improved by concealing the motor inside its base. The shiny brass parts complement the nickel plates and strips to good visual effect.

Hello Mike!

I love the way your models look with pristine nickel parts (the ones I build with Metallus parts miss the antique look), and I really like the kind of "satin" shine of them. Clever location of the motor! And, as I can see, you also like to improve the old instructions, the later often being full with good ideas otherwise poorly realized. I´m really exited about what is to come yet!
