V-shaped cutter with dimensions below will provide a 12 TPI 1/2" OD hob with stated flank & ridge measures, so that the 40,07 deg V-bit generated groove mounted and run at a 3,7 deg tangent angle to the blank face will provide the proper meshing of gears to be cut. Tryout on a 1/2"brass rod in the lathe will provide the necessary meshing test, then serve as a lead screw in the NFGC Mk X. If OK, 14 mm SS Drill rod will be cut, relieved, fluted, hardened, tempered and finally its cutting edges ground and put to use. All measures in mm, "m" denotes "module".
