Recently I have been perusing Bert Love’s ‘Meccano System’ book, and got quite interested in his story about the Pocket Meccano Sets of the early 1970s, and the reasoning behind them. There are just 19 parts in these Sets, plus a few nuts and bolts, but only seven of the parts can be thought of as ‘structural’ (plus four small pulleys), so there’s not a lot you can do. But I thought I would give it a try. Perhaps Minimal Meccano will be the next Big Trend! I have designed three original models so far. First is this Delta-Wing Fighter.
