I think we need to see the difference between the pre1951 pastel green and the post 1950 dark green cord. The later is what we think of as traditional "postwar" green hanks found in every set from 1951 to 1968! There is a difference and from the sets I have(mint) in my collection, I can tell you that the earlier light shade one is pre1951......and goes back to the prewar period!
