07-1st true hank of cord!--H1
Here we have the 1st appearance of the the true "hank" of cord in about 1907? The contruction is cotton as it was to be till the end for the most part in 1979. It is 3 twisted strands and the color is a very lite blue. It is thicker than what we are used to at about 1.25mm( most cord is 1 mm) and these examples are very stiff! Cord was blue(ish) right up to the end of 1926 but not neccessarily in this form...more to follow. I have also seen (in pictures) this very thick and stiff hank in a very dark blue. Anyone have examples? We can add them...The hanks themselves are about 4" long. I don't have a mint one to hand so if someone can estimate the length.....
