Hi, Michael! It may be an impossible task with this system, not only due to the variable tension on the cord, but also due to the very short action radius on the pulleys. |

Back in the early 1960s I tried to build this model, with the intention of incorporating it in my extensive Hornby clockwork railway layout. But, I never succeeded in getting the gates to open or shut in unison as described, and eventually I reverted to moving the gates by hand, or what we might refer to nowadays as 'manual' mode! |
