1908-1925 Meccano 0-1 Model 119 Invalid chair 2 a.jpg

Second version, this time with "stering". The use of a 1"-axle (then numbered #18, later #18b) in a set-1 model, places this instruction on the period 1916-1918 ( as far as I can find out in parts list generator)

By the way, here in Europe usually the supermarket trolley have all four wheels swivelling, which allows much more mobility, for instance oblique travelling, or fully rotation "on spot".

Hi, Michael!

Thanks for the comment! It helped me to answer the question I stated on the description of the next photo (see also the recent photo "c").

If this Meccano set was to be produced today, one of the models in its instructions manual could be a supermarket trolley, of which the model above bears a superficial resemblance.

To make the supermarket trolley even more realistic, its steering would have to have a mind of its own, of course!
