Meccano Fire Engine From No. 6 Set Of 1947 Modified For Radio Control

Edit I have built a Meccano Fire Engine based on model from a 1947 No. 6 Set instructions manual and modified it for Radio Control. The exterior of this engine is more or less similar to the one in the instructions manual. I chose this model as it had a built in gong or klanger, but sadly it was too feeble and its sound was drowned out by the noise of the motor driving it, so I removed that part. I have used the radio control and the chassis of the more modern meccano sets. I had difficulty in fitting the radio control chassis to the contours of the model, but managed finally.
