Upper pendulum rod and going train from the rear
The upper pendulum rod is seen here, along with its plain Axle Rod mounting. I found the original Pivot Rod mountings to be rather a pain! As the pendulum is being driven from its lower extremity, it seemed unnecessary to include perfectly frictionless mountings up on top. I have found this cruder but much more robust mounting to be entirely satisfactory.
At centre bottom of this photo, and projecting to the left, can be seen an Elektrikit Contact Stud. This fastens the lower part of the pendulum to the upper part. This is very convenient - the heavy lower pendulum can thus be easily removed for travel or for adjustment of the mechanism on the bench.
