Coal Face Cutter - Peter Harwood
Ready for when the coal mines re-open, this machine advances slowly and surely along the coal face while the fearsome cutter removes swathes of coal.
The driver is well protected in his cab (His seat is just visible).
Tyres have been fitted to allow the machine to move around freely.
It normally runs on rails fitted with hydraulic jacks to advance them towards the coal face after every pass.
The huge cutting blades are readily adjustable and easily replaced.
Additional parts: 2 - 16 3½" axles, 3 - 22 1" pulleys, 2 - 38 washers, 2 - 186a 6" driving bands, 1- 59 collar.
